UPDATE, Sept 6th:
Welcome everyone from SpiritDaily.com!
A quick note: I’ve just posted a few details about Barack Obama’s radical position on abortion. Click here for more details.
I know many Christians – including me- are interested in hearing Governor Palin talk about her faith. Please scroll down for more.
This story just came out today, September 6th, from Time Magazine.
It talks about how evangelicals may “not be sold” on Palin. Just watch the videos, in context. This article shows how some in the media still have no clue about people who really believe in Christ. She’s the real deal, but she’s not perfect- just like any other Christian who believes in God and wants the best for this country.
I hope you are encouraged.
Scroll down to the bottom for the videos!
Let us not forget Obama’s private comments about us “clinging to guns and religion.”
Some of you may have see negative stories about her faith. Here’s an out-of-context article about her a few days ago.
The AP article quoted below grabs the most controversial statements in the video. Please remember the context (that tends to be important) of her remarks- she’s speaking at her home church. A little more personal and little less governor.
From the AP:
Palin: Iraq war ‘a task that is from God’
Sarah says:
In an address last June, the Republican vice presidential candidate also urged ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in the state, calling it “God’s will.”
“Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God,” she said. “That’s what we have to make sure that we’re praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God’s plan.”
“I can do my job there in developing our natural resources and doing things like getting the roads paved and making sure our troopers have their cop cars and their uniforms and their guns, and making sure our public schools are funded,” she added. “But really all of that stuff doesn’t do any good if the people of Alaska’s heart isn’t right with God.”
Governor Palin’s home church, Wasilla Assembly of God, has a link to a YouTube/ Google Video collection.
Here are the two with Sarah Palin:
And the second:
Here’s their pastor’s comments on Palin as VP:

Funny how she says how because she attended the Assemblies of God church, there’s nothing she can see that would freak her out in church. I wish we can get some more videos of these people in action: rolling around on the floor, babbling gibberish, screaming, being exorcised, running around the “church” and all the rest of the manifestations of the Pentecostal circus.
Great to hear and see people thank GOD for who we are and what we have — without GOD we are/we have nothing.
Thank you Sarah— GOD Bless
Although I have never belonged to an Assemblies of God I do know many people that have and I can say that it is not true that all Assemblies of God churches have people “freaking out”! So let’s not judge others that you do not know, especially since that isn’t how you would like God to judge you. I would rather have a Christian that truly wants to see God’s will be done in this world instead of man’s than those who are guided by selfish desires and believe that everybody can do anything they want, no matter what that is. Christians, let’s pray for peace, especially among each other. There is only one being that would like Christians to be fighting each other and it isn’t God. Praise God for sending someone that is at least trying to serve Him. May God bless and guide us all.
This is what the founding fathers intended- people FROM THEIR OWN COMMUNITIES representing us. They never intended that our government be taken over by lawyers, which is what has happened. We need people of good will, regardless of their faith, who are willing to represent truth, natural law, and work for the common good. May Jesus Christ and His Holy Mother with all of heaven work God’s will through her.
Thank you for your information. I, myself have so much excitement about the changes coming to our great nation with the election of McCain/Palin. Finally back to our roots as a nation and the interesting thing is….look at how the opposition is going crazy. Looks like satan feels seriously threatened by the latest events and all of the ugliness is coming out to try to squash this movement. You can tell when you are stomping on the enemy’s head!! Keep up the good work and I will be checking back. God Bless!

I am so glad to see “the Iraq war is a task from God” in its proper context – the MSM did not give us the true spin on that at all (anyone surprised?). As a Roman Catholic, I am so excited about this wonderful pro-life woman on the national stage…she and her beautiful family are bringing the evil of abortion into a limelight like never before. And I also know that millions of prayers from Catholics like me are now going up that she comes HOME to where she was truly baptized…HOME to the Roman Catholic Church! That would be wonderful! God bless Sarah and God bless America!
I’m glad Mrs. Palin recognizes God in her life and in the world.
Beware of False Prophets is all I can think. Sarah seems filled with the sin of pride–the 1st deadly sin.
Governor Palin is an answer to prayer!
May God bless us through her as He chooses to use her at this time in history to bring about His will for the United States of America!
As a Roman Catholic, I would like to add that everything on the videos on this site is absolutely in accord with our faith. It does not matter what flavor of Christianity that she or any of you reading this may be, we welcome you to join with us in our prayers and works for our nation toward the fullfilment of the Will of God and the coming of His Kingdom.
May God Bless the U.S.A.
Maranatha – Come Lord Jesus!
I have only been to an Assemblies of God Church once – and witnessed the greatest outpouring of the Holy Spirit ever in my experience in a church, at that meeting, so I guess I’m biased.
God bless Sarah Palin!
I feel Sarah Palin is and answer to prayer for the long-suffering Pro-Life Christians in the US. As a mother of five
myself, and a woman who was once advised to abort a child
I was carrying because of “the life of the mother”- me, was at risk, I know first hand what it feels like to decide to chose
life for my child and put my own life in God’s hands. I was crushed and pinned under a truck with broken ribs and a collapsed lung, carrying the baby put my own life at risk, but
even though I had to sleep sitting up for months, so my ribs
would not fold in, we both survived. After delivering my son
my ribs finally began to heal. My son is 12. Thanks to God.

“Beware of False Prophets is all I can think”
(NKJV)Matt 7:15. “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
Mrs. Palin doesn’t claim to be a prophet, so how can she be a false prophet?
Also she doesn’t seem prideful, given she is human, and is in a place of power which means she needs to guard herself more so than the average person from that.
All sins are deadly(Romans 6:23) I don’t know who came up with the idea of the “7 deadly sins” but that is complete hogwash and not at all Bible based.
Just some friendly insight on your comment =)
I’d like to see a little more about her policies. I don’t care about her religion. Church and State should be separate and they need to STAY that way.
Debra, people like you are the reason that even though I’m a Christian I don’t identify with the religious right anymore. It is insulting to imply that I’m aligned with satan just because I am critical of Sarah Palin. My issues are with her political performance (leaving Wasilla 20 million dollars in debt, going after earmarks then lying about it, etc.). That and her sarcastic attitude. I have a hard time imagining Jesus would agree with her belittling the leadership role of community organizers during her speech, since our entire faith was built on the Lord’s efforts as a community organizer, not to mention that our country was born that way and so was every major important movement in our history.
This is the most ridiculous Christocentric garbage I have ever heard! I am a Christian, but I don’t think that it’s right for a person to be elected into office solely on the basis that they are “just like any other Christian who believes in God and wants the best for this country.” Seriously, this country is NOT supposed to be run as a theocracy. God should have NO bearing on morals within the legislative or judicial system, nor should belief in God (and I mean that pantheistically; I’m all for equal opportunity absence of religion from government) necessarily mean that you are “fit” to run the country.
People, there is a reason that there are rules for separation of church and state. Sarah Palin epitomizes hypocrisy. Just because you are a Christian does NOT mean that you are a good person.
Sarah Palin is more representative of Real Americans than Joe Biden is. McCain made a very good move choosing Sarah Palin for VP. She’s smart, and capable of dealing with important matters, and she has a strong moral base.
Those things should matter in a candidate. The McCain/Palin ticket has my vote.
While I am not a McCain supporter, and therefore will not be voting for McCain/Palin – I too am happy to see this in context.
For those that didn’t watch the videos but just skimmed the article, fast forward to 3:50 in the first video and you will hear her mention this.
The author of this blog is correct: The NYT took it OUT OF CONTEXT!
She is instructing the people to pray that the leadership of the country is doing God’s will and staying on task with God’s will. Not that they ARE doing it, but that they be guided by it and if they aren’t they should rethink what they are doing. now, she didn’t say it in so many words, but as a strong believer in the same faith, it is pretty easy to ascertain that is her meaning when reading between the lines. Listen for yourself. She is NOT saying that the Iraq war is a task from God, but rather we need to pray that we stay on God’s task and not man’s.
Heavenly Father, you have endowed your humanity with the grace to be like you, creators and stewards of all that is good. Endow, Governor Palin with the necessary graces to face the storm facing her until election day, and that she is touched by your Holy Spirit with the words of truth to reach every heart of every American with your truth and freeing words, for this we pray in our household in Jesus Christ.
Mary, Our Lady of All Nations, pray for us to call into being the truth of the Gospel. God bless America.
To have us remember Obama’s private comment about those who cling to guns and religion is totally taking what he said out of context. Narrow minded conservative thinking is just that, narrow minded thinking.
This Palin woman along with Giuliani made fun and insulted community organizer/activists. Typical of sinners. Giuliani was at the Republican convention with his mistress/wife. Lets not forget he who lives in glass houses should not throw stones. Both Palin and Giuliani should watch what they say about everyone. It is my understanding that there is going to be a big breaking news on Palin. Giuliani is washed up and his political days are over—good thing he has money. We’ll see who laughs last. God don’t like ugly. Even the GOP can be bought to their knees.
Sarah Palin is speaking in her church, not in a federal building, school, etc., asking for prayers, which I believe you do in a church. Therefore I don’t see this separation of church and state issue again being mentioned.
The tone of several stated “Christians” is more in line with the DailyKos, Crooks and Liars crowd who tend to want to tear down an individual they don’t agree with.
Even if these church members want to roll on the floor, or scream and yell, what does that have to do with this video!! I thought we had freedom of religion in America to worship as we want. Who says we have to sit quietly in a pew with our heads held down. Our faith should be a celebration of our love for our Lord and Savior. Sarah Palin shows a sincere (in my eyes and ears), not prideful, love of our LORD, her family, her church, her country.
She needs our prayers to help her face the onslaught of evil that has been thrown at her and her family. I am sure that she feels comfortable that her faith and church will support her spiritual needs.
You think this is somehow improving the image of christians in America. You’d be wrong.
Somehow I don’t think many of you understand the concept of separation of Church and State. Our Founding Fathers (Christian) recognized the fact that when people are in power, they tend to “crush” religion and people in it. To prevent this from happening, our Forefathers put into the Constitution laws that WOULD PREVENT GOVERNMENT FROM INTERFERING WITH THE CHURCH…this is the true meaning of separation. Let’s get it right, guys. Time to study the Constitution and be proud of being part of a Christian community that is “One National Under God….”
Put it this way, VOTE McCain..the other side hates the unborn, not only that, I will be able to keep my deer rifle and fishing pole if McCain wins… Nuff said
Palin = Oil
Bush/Chaney = oil
Beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing.
Do not be sheep. THINK!
“Somehow I don’t think many of you understand the concept of separation of Church and State. Our Founding Fathers (Christian) recognized the fact that when people are in power, they tend to “crush” religion and people in it.”
You do realize that the Constitution is intentionally ambiguous so that it can evolve with the contextual temporal morality of the nation, right? See, this is why people think that they should still have guns; they don’t understand that the right to bear arms was listed simply because residents of the U.S. needed to defend themselves during the Revolution and follow-up skirmishes, not because they wanted to hunt deer on the weekend.
Scary. What is the difference between Sara Palin and Muslim extremists, or any other theocrats who use their god to justify whatever means to an end. None.
I cannot believe what I am reading…you all are really delusional when it comes to Sarah Palin. Instead of focusing just on the religious aspects of this Presidential race why don’t you look at all of the lies and deception she has already invoked as Governor and before that, Mayor in Alaska. Doesn’t it matter to you that she had the hard earned people of Alaska pay for all of her and her families trips? Doesn’t it matter to you that as mayor she had a surplus to 20 million debt, large tax increases, large spending increases, hired town’s first lobbyist and accepted over $27 million in earmarks, reports of loyalty tests and vindictive firings? Doesn’t it matter that she tried to get the local librarians to censor or ban books? What are we living in, the dark ages? It’s really sad to think that many of you once judged Jaime Lynn Spears teen pregnancy as the result of bad parenting and yet when Sarah Palin announces that her teenage daughter is pregnant then it’s wonderful?!? Unbelievably hypocritical but then most fanatical religious people are extremists and usually are the ones that go to Church on Sunday and end up being vicious, close minded, cynical, and very, very bias towards those who do not believe in the way they do the rest of the week. They usually don’t “live” their religion except on Sundays. Very sad to think that you live your lives so narrow minded. Get a clue, if all you get out of going to church is that GOD wants you to HATE those people who don’t believe your way then I guess you are all on a one way ticket DOWN and you need to go back and read your bibles. “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. John 13:34
I understand she started attending Wassila Bible Church sometime in 2002. One gal I work with use to be her nanny and attended that church with her.
Karen,
You’re distorting Palin’s record. The previous governor (Murkowski) spent about 430,000 on various trips around the state. Palin cut that back to roughly 43,000. Alaska is such a huge state that the governor does need to fly places at times to fulfill her duties.
The media has been spinning so many lies about Palin but the American people aren’t fooled.
They are if they vote for her and McCain
Karen,
THANK YOU SO MUCH for offering a verse that is seemingly often overlooked by today’s “Christians.”
Realist,
I don’t believe the American people are fools and most are smart enough to do the research for themselves on anything that may be detrimental to someone running for an elected office. Most of the so called “spinning” you are referring to is from the most notable newspapers in the country. The actual facts that they are stating are public record but they do verify them before printing. It must be hard for someone who wants so hard to believe in Palin to think anything other than the good that she may or may not have done for the State of Alaska. But, she is running for a very powerful position in Washington, one in which she has a really good chance of being the Commander In Chief if anything should happen to McCain and therefore she is going to be put under scrutiny especially with her track record as Governor so that we can make an informed decision about her qualifications to be VP or President if the need arises.
If this is so called “spinning” by the media then why is it that the governor of Alaska from 1994-2000, Tony Knowles, stated that he told anyone of his commissioners if they were ever in their house, whether it was Juneau or elsewhere, they were not to get a per diem because, clearly, “it looks like a scam — you pay yourself to live at home”. Although a governor may be “entitled” to something it should be up to his or her personal integrity to really assess whether or not they should be taking advantage of their “right” so blatantly. Why is it that one governor’s take on per diem is so far from another’s? She wrote some form of “Lodging — own residence” or “Lodging — Wasilla residence” more than 30 times at the same time she took a per diem, according to the “public record” reports. In two dozen undated amendments to the reports, the governor deleted the reference to staying in her home but still charged the per diem. If that doesn’t directly go towards paying yourself for living at home I don’t know what does.
And yes, the governor has to make appearances to events, and yes they do ask that she bring her family but I would not excuse the following “filed facts”: Palin charged the state a per diem for working on Nov. 22, 2007 — Thanksgiving Day. The reason given, according to the expense report, was the Great Alaska Shootout, an annual NCAA college basketball tournament held in Anchorage. What has that have to do with what’s best for your state? If you want to go then use your salary to get you and your family there not tax payers money.
Misappropriate use of her so called per diem is just one of the many problems that Palin possesses. She really needs to go back and carefully look at all of the video tape, pictures, and interviews she conducted during her run for Governor because what she said then and what she says now are very different.
I never even heard of Sarah Palin before two weeks ago but what I have learned about her has been nothing but lies which, like I stated above, are all backed up with the financial records, videos, or comments she made during her run for Governor.
Since researching Palin’s qualifications to become VP, I have come to this conclusion…she is not in this for anyone else but herself and her family. With how hard hit everyone is economically, thanks to Bush, and how bad our debt is right now overall, I don’t want someone to have such a powerful position and managed to “misappropriate funds”, or redo and/or twist certain rights she may have for her and her families financial or emotional comfort. There are way too many people out their losing homes, no health insurance, little food, and trying just to make it through another day to have someone like Palin in such an important office. She has shown through her actions that she is not trustworthy, caring, or in it for the right reasons.
