re argentina: they have been in a financial crisis since Mennem sold off and privatized most of their country. Welfare programs have not been increased under either Kirchener. Though they have retained their universal healthcare and public universities, which existed long before even Mennem.

you're about as well-informed and balanced as Fox. keep up the scattershot work.

Well, the foreign auto makers who have plants in the U.S. are not completely "foreign." It's such a "world economy" right now.

For example, a Toyota plant in the U.S. pays federal and state taxes, payroll taxes, healthcare benefits, retirement, etc. to it's workers. In addition, the company itself, Toyota Motors (TM on the NYSE), is publicly traded in the U.S. So many investors IN AMERICA, mutual funds, etc. invest in the company (and therefore gets investment worth, dividends, etc.).

Sure, the "profits" go to Japan, sure. But that's only a fraction of the whole financial impact of the company. The inverse can be said for American companies who have assembly plants or parts factories or etc. elsewhere. At the very least, they may buy some of their electronic components (computer chips, etc.) from foreign companies. So some of OUR "profits" go overseas.

I'd simply view the traditional American companies (GM, Ford, etc.) and the foreign car companies as equals. They need to compete in the marketplace for our (not many) dollars.

I lived through Jimmy Carter who also had a super majority in Congress and this guy is Jimmy Carter II with a bunch of anarchist/racist thugs in his ear. God help us if he wins.

You think his informercial is crappage; check out his website: taxcutfacts.org. It allows you to calculate the generous one's benevolence.

I plugged in an income of $250,000 with three plus kids, itemized deductions, saving for retirement, and college expenses. Surprise, surprise! I was told that I would probably not get a tax cut under odumbo's plan. It wasn't until I hit $150,000 that I actually got a "whopping" $500.00 tax cut. Wow, I just don't know where I'll spend all that dough.

What a bunch of crapweasely snake oil salesman (and I'm being nice).

Hey Stuart, I sort of agree with you. I think McCain performed well, but he cannot do the impossible. (see top of post)

Romney would have been a better choice for the country and I think most Republicans would admit to that now.

Romney as the nominee would have removed the only point which resonates for people with Obama- McCain = Bush.

As Bill Clinton famously said, "It's the economy, stupid."

A most disappointing effort by someone who will now likely remain as Senator McCain. As I said in the Primaries, we need a businessman to run our country but no, the RINO’s went for McCain and now we will all pay a dear price under President Obama.
