Get ready for Pimp My Mortgage! Go from subprime to sublime!
The government will buy your home, get you a better subprime loan, perhaps extend yet another ARM to you, or lower your interest rate- just as long as you are in trouble.
Do you have a student loan? Well, your house payment will be like that. Need a few months off to pay for that flat screen? Go ahead! Stimulate the economy! Want a lower house payment so you can buy car you cannot afford? Yeah Boy! Step up and support our economizzle, but buy American!
If you are not in trouble- if you pay your bills- then too bad! People like you are the problem with this country. You are such a sucker! Just give us your money and shut up. If you make a lot of money then give me a lot of it and shut up.
I am a McCain supporter. I donated money to his campaign, I have two bumper stickers on my car, a yard sign, and I took this picture:
I deeply respect McCain’s service to this country and I like him as a person.
However, I am beyond mad, frustrated, and angry about his promise to help those poor people on Main Street with their mortgages. This is just another form of income redistribution.
Why should I be personally responsible? To work hard for people who are not?

So if I stop apying my mortgage, McCain is going to cut it in half? I hold in my hand a check for my mortgage. I could pay it or go on a weekend getaway with my wife……
Boy do I feel stupid now. For the last 10 yrs I have worked hard and saved to come up with a down payment to buy a home. While the liberals around me were neck deep in debt and driving new cars, taking annual expensive vacations, wearing brand name clothes, and frequently spending much on entertainment and eating out – I thought I was smart by denying myself and family these extras in order to save for a sizable down payment that would secure for me a better interest rate on a fixed rate mortgage. When I bought a house 2 years ago I ignored my realtors advice to buy a much nicer and more expensive one which I could have got into using “creative financing”. But thinking it was the wise thing not to overextend myself, I opted to buy a much less expensive fixer upper. I in my naiveté thought I was smart by working overtime to not only make my monthly mortgage payment but pay off a portion of the principle early. Now, as it turns out, those whom I once thought of as foolish for living high on the hog while taking such risks with their homes, credits, and finances were really the intelligent ones. Under Obama’s plan (and now McCains too) those who bought and lived beyond their means will now have their mortgages renegotiated with the amount they owe lowered to reflect the new deflated value. (Of course, the cost of this giveaway will be shouldered by us the taxpayers.) They laughed at me while I did without in order to purchase only what I could afford, and I suppose they will be laughing at me now – all the way to the bank. I guess the joke is on me. Please excuse me for lacking a sense of humor, but I don’t feel like laughing.
