Yes, this is the real night one of the convention!
Michelle Malkin has the line ups for tonight here.
So here we go!
Excerpts from Fred’s speech via The Weekly Standard:
Flipping back and forth from Fox to CNN. I wonder who CNN will have in the pulpit tonight.
Hopefully Lieberman’s speech will be like Zell Miller’s in 2004.
Fox News: Lieberman Speaking Slot Shows Favor Among GOP, Possible Future in McCain Cabinet
ST. PAUL — Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman — Democrat and friend of Republican presidential candidate John McCain — is expected to give a “speech like no other given at either a GOP or a Democratic convention,” sources say, in order to “make a positive, affirmative case for Sen. McCain.”
It is “a very personal speech that will appeal beyond party — a distinctive, transpartisan speech,” a source close to the campaign told FOX News.
Lieberman is expected to share some of his personal journey — and explain why, as a Democrat, he is even here. “It’s his,” the source said. “It’s from the heart.”
A new word! Transpartisan! Wow!
I’m trying to remember what prominent Republican spoke at the DNC convention?
A few thoughts…
I wonder if duty, honor, service and sacrifice matter anymore?
Or are we turning so selfish and narcissistic that those things matter less and less?
Are we at the point where the vast majority of the country flip JFK’s speach around and now wonder what the country owes us?
UPDATE:
McCain camp responds to NYT “reporter” about factual inaccuracies.
Since when does the NYT need facts for a story? I just heard this lie on CNN and Fox- Palin’s for Alaska separation. I always thought it was the terrible bloggers who didn’t check their sources.
UPDATE 2:
Newt Gingrich on The O’Reily Factor says it all- 22 years ago Palin’s husband gets a DUI. About the same time Barack Obama uses cocaine.
Where’s the “vetting” been on Obama’s “wild” past? If it’s there for the husband of the VP, then why not for the democratic nominee?
UPDATE 3:
If I hear the word vetted one more time I’m voting for Barr.
Mike Monsoor video on now. What an amazing person he was.
Here’s a video tribute from YouTube:
UPDATE 4:
WOW! Fred Thomson must have taken a nap and had a cup of coffee, no, wait, a double expresso!
He’s doing a great job. I’ll sleep well tonight.
