Gustav: Republican versus Democrat Response / Faith of the Democrats

Yet another “compare and contrast” moment from the campaign.

The McCain/Palin campaign is touring Mississippi’s emergency management agency today.  What’s Obama up to?  Not sure, but I’m sure he’ll release a statement or do something.

McCain is following through with the main message of his campaign- country first.

From CNN:

A senior McCain source said Saturday that officials were considering turning the convention into a massive telethon to raise money for the Red Cross and other agencies to help with hurricane aid.

“He wants to do something service oriented if and when the storm hits and it’s as bad as it’s expected to be now,” the McCain source said.

So what are other Democrats up to?  How about thanking God for the timing of Gustav!

On a plane from Denver to Charlotte following the Democrats’ convention, I found myself seated behind former National Chairman of the Democratic National Committee Don Fowler and Congressman John Spratt of South Carolina. Their conversation was interesting to say the least.

For example, they made fun of Sarah Palin for several minutes, Fowler calling her “Dan Quayle” on steroids and Spratt creatively describing her as “just terrible.” They both agreed that, “Other than the simple fact that she’s a female,” she has nothing to offer.
